Experience an unforgettable evening of dance at the Avon Pavilion! Artistic Ventures in Dance is thrilled to be returning to Colorado theaters after a highly successful inaugural season, and we invite you to join us for our second free performance at this beautiful venue.
Artistic Director Emily Speed has curated a dynamic evening of classical and contemporary works by some of today’s most exciting choreographers. The program will feature Ursula Verduzco’s “Untamed Women”, a dramatic & powerful ballet commissioned for AVID’s inaugural performance in New York City last year alongside excerpts of the audience favorite, “IMPULSE” by Quinn Wharton. Audiences will enjoy excerpts of new works by Cherice Barton, Danielle Diniz, & David Hochberg, as well as an exciting peek at the dynamic choreography of Alexa Rose Foundation awardee Daniel Ojeda, in his acclaimed work, "Persona". Verduzco’s and Barton’s choreography is accompanied by original scores composed by Anne-Marie Keane, promising a performance that gives audiences a fresh and thought-provoking experience through new music & dance—one showcasing ART that MOVES.
This evening includes a special guest. As part of AVID’s mission to improve the accessibility of dance, we are excited to once again be collaborating with Celebrate the Beat, an organization deeply committed to fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) by providing all children with high-quality arts education and exposure to dance through in- and after-school programs.
