America/Beautiful
America/Beautiful is an evening-length ballet choreographed by Phil Chan to music from pianist Min Kwon’s landmark commissioning project, created in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. Featuring reimaginings of “America the Beautiful” by more than 75 composers, the score draws on voices that span cultures, geographies, and musical traditions, forming a richly textured soundscape that reflects the patchwork of the American experience. Accompanied by solo piano, the ballet offers space for audiences to reflect on the beauty, tension, and complexity of belonging in America today.
